Workshop 1 – Microsoft Onenote & Class Notebook – Emma Kirk (Capricornia School of Distance Education)
In this workshop participants will work with a cloud based file platform of Class Notebook to engage students and increase capturing evidence of learning and work returns. This free program includes three types of sub notebooks: a personal OneNote for every student, a Content Library for class materials and resources, as well as a Collaboration Space for group work, sharing and peer feedback.
Class Notebook organises content information, lesson materials and resources for students to access in one file. Students can complete any lesson activities, note taking, homework and assessment. Work can be completed in real-time or anywhere 24/7. Students work is saved and submitted automatically! Teacher permissions allow access to student work for live and offline feedback.
Participants in this workshop will be given access to a Class Notebook, so they can connect with the presenter in a real life scenario. Discussions will allow for participants to reflect on how this platform applies in their individual contexts and experiences.
Workshop 2 – Effective Technology Integration for Better Learning – using GSuite and friends – Paul Rayner (Curriculum Consultant Catholic Education Office)
GSuite for Education is a suite of free Google apps tailored specifically for schools, teachers and students. Educators can provide instant feedback and track a student’s progress to improve performance. With powerful tools like Classroom, instructors can manage curriculum, assignments, and grading all in one place. The suite of applications includes gmail, drive, docs, sheets, slides, hangouts, classroom, jamboard, forms, calendar, sites, groups etc.
Paul will link in with a variety of educators by video conference to provide tips and strategies for integrating the Apps in GSuite to enhance learning. Please bring along any stories of successes and failures to share.
