Far North Queensland

FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND CHAPTER

The Far North Queensland Chapter of QSITE hosts, brokers and sponsors a wide range of ICT events and activities for teachers and students.  It develops and shares resources for teachers from all educational sectors in all areas of education from Prep through to Tertiary.

Our geographical area is quite vast and includes Cairns, the Atherton Tablelands, the Cassowary Coast, Cooktown and the Daintree and north to the Cape, Gulf and Torres Strait.

QSITE Far North Queensland Chapter

Our Chapter strives to annually conduct a variety of technology workshops and information services to assist in promoting the effective use of Information and Communication Technologies within FNQ classrooms. We strive to provide teachers in our remote area of the state with up to date information, teaching ideas and classroom resources. We continue to use the geography of cyberspace to reach QSITE members and professionals in our area.

The Far North Queensland Chapter sustains a pleasing level of membership (both personal and institutional).  We strive to raise the profile of QSITE in Far North Queensland schools, as well as taking a leadership role in celebrating the best practice of Far North Queensland teachers and students.

Our small Chapter’s history also boasts numerous past winners of annual State QSITE awards from Educator of the Year, Leader of the Year and Emerging Leader of the Year.  We also have had ISTE Award winners and a state Life member.

We always welcome newcomers to FNQ to our proactive group.
