A snapshot of the Canva for Education Workshop: Fun, Fast and Full of ideas!

This past Wednesday, educators from across Brisbane, Logan and Gold Coast gathered for a fast-paced, engaging and hands-on Canva for Education workshop.  It was designed to provide an overview of how this dynamic tool can be an assistive tool in the classroom.  Though brief, this session showcased many ways Canva can streamline lesson planning, boost student engagement and support digital literacy and creativity.

The session, run by Jo Muirhead, had us explore the diverse features of Canva, including its user-friendly and extensive library of templates; educational features like the whiteboard; presentations and creating microsites; polls and quizzes, as well as accessing the insights; and interactive design elements.  Over the hour and a half, teachers had the opportunity to experiment with the features and ask any burning questions.

Even experienced users discovered new possibilities, such as Canva’s mobile device integration for remote presentations.  The session wrapped up with a lively discussion, leaving participants eager to explore Canva further, and bring their new tools to the classroom.  For anyone wanting some Canva resources, Jo’s microsite can be found here: https://canvaclc.my.canva.site/qsite-canva-microsite

Though brief, the workshop successfully provided a strong foundation for using Canva in Education.  Thank you everyone who attended.  Your enthusiasm made this session a success!  Stay tuned for more workshop and professional development opportunities to come; and if there is a particular workshop you’d like to see in the future, let us know!
