Jason Zagami is an award-winning ICT educator who has been with QSITE for the 14 years he has been in education. He is a stellar example of an educator accessing QSITE skills and support to drive change in education.

As a Griffith University Lecturer he is once again driving change - working with the next generation of educators.

QSITE believes that research partnerships with universities are important to ensure ICT in education results in meaningful pedagogical developments and enhanced student learning.

In the past, the QSITE culture of professional support has led to past participation in research projects reflecting current practitioner needs. QSITE members have provided important data for researchers wanting to explore the in-school realities of ICTs in education.

QSITE membership also provides opportunities to disseminate research results to a broad range of practising educators via annual conferences and periodic journals, including ACEC and ISTE national and international journal publications.

QSITE also recognises that tertiary institutions and educators can benefit from QSITE networking and learning communities too. From a tertiary educator viewpoint, QSITE membership:

  • allows tertiary educators to stay in touch with their profession and its practitioners – sharing knowledge and new developments in a two-way exchange that helps all educators.
  • helps prepare pre-service teachers for their entrance to the workforce through practitioner links and insights.
  • provides opportunities to showcase leading student achievements at QSITE events and in QSITE publications, and
  • is an avenue to encourage life-long learning among education professionals encouraged toward professional leadership goals.
