ICT mentors are found in all governing education bodies, mentoring and trouble-shooting for multiple schools in a district. They may be teacher leaders, ICT coordinators, consultants or teachers who provide extra support for their colleagues. Wherever they are found, ICT Mentors hold special responsibilities to the classroom teachers they support and advise.

With growing pressure on teachers to integrate ICTs into classrooms, it is the ICT mentors who are often the first point of contact for educators concerned with transforming ICTs in classrooms into meaningful learning outcomes for students.

QSITE’s ICT mentor members benefit from the ability to share problems and collaborate on solutions for the educators they represent.

QSITE provides important opportunities for ICT mentors to connect with colleagues and access knowledge and experience across all areas of Queensland education. In turn QSITE ICT mentors can share their experiences with others who share their enthusiasm for teacher support for the benefit of all Queensland educators and students.

QSITE helps ICT mentors work together to create opportunities for teacher learning and to empower school and education leaders making decisions about ICT in schools.

QSITE’s national and international affiliations also help ICT mentors stay up to date with quick access to new global educational ICT developments and QSITE’s ICT emerging and outstanding leader awards recognise the importance of educators who work to drive ICT development and support in education.
