Amanda Rablin
QSITE Secretary
Amanda Rablin has dedicated her career to helping teachers face ICT integration challenges and produce meaningful student learning. She is a QSITE leader with a passion for ICT and exploring its impact on learning, teaching and communication in our society.
Amanda currently works as the Education Officer of Learning Management for Brisbane Catholic Education, supporting e-learning initiatives across its 132 schools. She is also studying a Doctorate of Education researching teacher professional learning and ICT, and in her spare time, contributes to a variety of online communities with like-minded educators.
Amanda was voted QSITE Emerging Leader of the Year in 2005, and was nominated for a peer support award with Teaching Australia.
“During my Bachelor of Education studies I found many of my fellow students, and some teachers in schools were unsure of how ICTs could be used to support student learning.
“Some were afraid of ICTs simply because they didn’t have the support they needed to face new technologies with confidence.
“My QSITE experience involves being part of a community that responds to and supports others - like a whole group of mentors with a variety of passions that actively show an interest in what others are doing.
“Even better, the QSITE community challenges you to go further, be brave, and take risks.
“That’s a big reason why some QSITE members lead the state in ICT education and integration.
“You join for the expertise and the opportunities for learning, but you stay for the friendships and the exciting challenge of making a difference.”
